Do you read the labels on the food you buy? If you don't, it is time to educate yourself and start reading the labels of foods you buy for yourself and your family.
A food label is just like a RECIPE - It tells you what's in the food you eat. Don't you want to know what you're putting into your body? In order to plan a healthy diet, you must know how to read a food label.
Have you ever gotten confused by the information on the food labels on the food you buy to eat? Especially when you are trying to cut calories, fat, and carbohydrates. What are those food labels really saying? Check below to answer your many food label questions.
When trying to figure out what the food you are thinking of buying actually contains, ignore the front of the package hype! It is just that - marketing hype. Manufacturers can't actually lie on labeling, but they can stretch the true when trying to get your attention to buy their product.

Every packaged food must include a list of ingredients. The ingredient in largest quantity is listed first, while the one in smallest quantity is listed last.

1. Recommended serving size/Calories per serving. The first items you'll notice are Serving Size and Servings Per Container. Serving Size is a standard measure of food. Servings Per Container represents the number of servings found in the food package. Serving size is expressed in kitchen terms - cups, spoons, slices, and also in grams. Serving size tells how much food makes up a single serving. All data on the label is based on the serving size stated.
2. Amount Per Serving - Shows the number of calories found in a single food serving. Multiply this number by the serving size and it should equal, or come close to, the total volume of the package.
3. Calories from fat - Food labels show Calories from Fat so you can limit the amount of fat you eat for a healthier diet. The rule of thumb is that no more than 30 percent of your daily calories should come from fat. Higher fat foods should be eaten in smaller portions.
4. % Daily Value - This section tells you what percentage of the total recommended daily amount of each nutrient (fats, carbs, proteins, major vitamins, and minerals) is in each serving, based on a 2,000 calorie per day diet.
5. Total fat - This equals the number of grams of fat per serving of the food.

** Trans fat - This new item is to be officially included on the food label in 2006. Trans fat information will usually be found under Total Fat.
6. Cholesterol - This line tells you how many milligrams of cholesterol and what percent this is of the recommended daily value.
7. Sodium/salt - The latest recommendation for sodium is less than 2,400 mg of sodium per day, or about a teaspoon of table salt.
8. Total carbohydrates - Tells you how many grams of carbohydrates are in each serving and the percentage of the Daily Value this represents. This number includes starches, complex carbohydrates, dietary fiber, added sugar sweeteners, and non-digestible additives.
9. Fiber - Fiber is an indigestible carbohydrate and aids in elimination. At least 15 grams of fiber per day is recommended.
10. Protein - Many foods contain some protein but meat, fish, poultry and dairy foods are highest. Protein needs average between 50-100 grams per day.
11. Percent Daily Values - This section gives some estimated nutrients per 2000 and 2500 calories.

Hyderabadi Urdu (Urdu: حیدرآبادی اردو) is a dialect of Urdu spoken in Hyderabad, India. It is considered one of the many Deccani Urdu dialects. It is a mixture of Hindustani (Hindi and Urdu) and Telugu, with many Persian and Turkish influences. Linguistically, it is notable for its mixing of the Indo-Aryan languages of the North (Hindustani) with the Dravidian languages of the South (Telugu). This dialect can be understood very easily by most Hindi or Urdu-speakers, but it is difficult for non-native speakers to use it themselves.

Some differences are:

Kaiku= why instead of kyon in traditional Urdu
Mereku= me instead of mujhey in traditional Urdu
Tereku= you instead of tujhey in traditional Urdu
Nakko= an alternate(and informal) negative generally indicating "no thanks" or "do not". Can be(and is often) used in place of mat. Naheen, naa and mat(from traditional Urdu) are still used where nakko is inappropriate for the context or in polite situations
Hau - for yes, instead of "Haan"

Potti - girl
Potta - Boy
Mia - Man (i.e. "Chalao mia." means "Let's go, man.")
Ghaeithla - moron ( i.e. "Kya ghaithla hai mia")
Chambu - mug ( i.e. "Haalat chambu hogayee")
Halloo - Slow (i.e. "Zara Hallu chalo bawa")

Plural form of words: The plural of a word is formed by sufixing 'an' to the word. the letter 'n' is silent. example: pottian (girls), choran (thieves), machcharan (mosquitoes), naaman (names), logan (people) etc.

Economic Crisis Explained (The Hyderabadi Way ....)

Dear Hyderabadis,

If you are real a Hyderabadi or have a link to Hyderabad - you are the best person to explain the world about Global Meltdown, Financial Crisis, changes in and Valuation of Shares and Bonds............

All in one example below:

Khaja Bhai is the proprietor of a Nehari restaurant in Hyderabad. Sales are low and, in order to increase them, he comes up with a plan to allow his customers to "eat now and pay later". He keeps track of the meals consumed on a ledger.

Word gets around and as a result increasing numbers of customers flock to Khaja Bhai´s Hotel. Khaja Bhai´s suppliers are delighted and are very willing to sell more and more raw materials for the meals he prepares. Khaja Bhai shows them his ledger of receivables and they extend him credit.

A young and dynamic customer service consultant at the local bank recognizes these customer debts as valuable future assets and gives Khaja Bhai a credit line and then increases his borrowing limit. Taking advantage of his customers´ freedom from immediate payment constraints, Khaja jacks up the prices of his Nehari, Kulche, Jabde, Paaye and Zabaan (restaurant menu).

Customers don´t mind as they are not required to pay on the spot anyway. Sales volume increases massively, Banks and suppliers lend more; Khaja Bhai opens more outlets. He sees no reason for undue concern since he has the debts of the customers as collateral.

At the bank´s corporate headquarters, expert bankers recognize Khaja´s customer loans as assets and transform these into BONDS. These negotiable instruments are given exotic names such as JABDA BOND, PAAYA BOND, ZABAAN BOND AND KULCHA BOND. These securities are then listed on the Stock Exchange and traded on markets worldwide. No one really understands what the names mean and how the securities are guaranteed, but, nevertheless, as their prices continuously climb, the securities become top-selling items.

One day, although the prices are still climbing, a credit risk manager of the bank decides that the time has come to demand payment of one of the debts incurred by Khaja Bhai. Khaja in turn asks his clients to pay up. One by one they refuse; the clients cannot pay back the debts. Khaja Bhai refuses to serve them any more. The clients stop coming. is really screwed now.. He cannot fulfill his loan obligations and therefore claims bankruptcy. All Bonds drop in price by between 80 to 95%.

The suppliers of Khaja, having granted generous payment due dates and having invested in the securities are faced with similar problems. The Meat Supplier defaults on payment to the Cattle Supplier and claims bankruptcy. The Kulche Ka Aata supplier is taken over by a competitor; Khaja lays off the cook and staff. Bankruptcies soar, unemployment mushrooms. The bank that lent the money in the first place is set to collapse.

It is later saved by the Government following dramatic round-the-clock consultations by leaders from the governing political parties with Khaja Bhai commuting back and forth in his Executive Jet and Mercedes 500SEL, brokering the deal  "Bail-Out".

The funds required to save the economic collapse are obtained by a tax levied on the common citizens, Most Of Whom, Do Not Eat Nehari, Zabaan, Sirey No Paye...as their sirey are unable to understand!!!
