CREATING AND CONFIGURING PI- OUTPUT TAG - HowTo

CREATING AND CONFIGURING  PI- OUTPUT TAG

The process of creating tag involves the following steps

1. Importing/Creating the tag into the Pi-Server.

2. Configuring the Universal Name for each tag in the PI-PCG

3. Configuring the Universal Name in the Areva OAG

4. Creating the point in the Areva Database

5. Displaying the value on the Areva Display

Step 1

Importing/Creating the tag into the Pi-Server.

a) If you are going to create a tag based on a tag of say Qassim, then first create new tag in Riyadh Pi-server with a pi-pi interface.

b) Then create an output tag by specifying the following tag creation attributes. The figure below shows an Pi-Pi tag from Qassim in line 1 and an output tag based on this PitoPitag, in line 2.

Please note the differences in the output tag compared to standard tag

excdesc = instr=PCG:DataValue~PCG_CRC_QCC_DEMAND.Value (Universal Name to be used in PCG)

SourceTag=TOTAL_SYSTEM:DEMAND(_MW).C.QCC%

Location5=0

Step2.

Configuring the Universal Name for each tag in the PI-PCG

a) Login to the Pi-PCG (GW1) and open ICCP Configuration Utility

b) Go to Local Control Centers and select DataValues option

c) In the right hand window, click ADD

d) A small pop-up window will open, where you must specify the Universal Name, as already specified in the Step1.

e) Ensure the DataType is RealQ for Analog and StateQ for Digital/Status points

f) Click Ok to save the Universal name and repeat the same for adding more points.

h) Finally, load the AX-S4 Iccp database to effect the changes.

i)  Please note that unlike the Input DataValues, you don't need to associate the DataValues to datasets, they get added to the dataset, the next time a request is made from the OAG.

The remaining steps are yet to be added… which will complete the documentation.
